Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the provision of cleaning services by Cleaning Mate (“the Company”) to its customers. By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Cancellation and Termination: The Company reserves the right to cancel any service, at its discretion. Any form of discrimination, including racism, sexism, ageism, etc., or disrespect towards our staff will result in immediate and permanent termination of service.
2. Health and Safety Limitations: The Company’s personnel shall not engage in tasks that jeopardize their health or safety. This includes, but is not limited to, climbing heights beyond a three-step ladder( 93cm=3ft), moving heavy furniture alone(more than 50lb=23kg) cleaning biohazard substances(including human or animal waste) dealing with insect-infested areas, or cleaning areas with mold.
3. Pet Safety: While the Company exercises caution around pets, customers are responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of their pets during the cleaning process.
4. Liability: The Company maintains insurance coverage for damages or breakages caused by its personnel. However, the Company shall not be liable for damages resulting from normal wear and tear, improper installation, or undisclosed valuable items. Customers must report any damage within 24 hours of the cleaning service.
5. Utilities: We need electricity and water to perform our services. Customers must ensure that electricity and water utilities are available for the duration of the cleaning service.
6. Special Conditions:
- Carpet & Rug Snags – Carpet snags can occur due to exposed loops from normal wear and tear or when moving furniture, which can get caught by a vacuum’s roller brush. To minimize snags or fraying, we will avoid areas of carpeting/rugs that are in poor condition.
- Broken Blinds – Please be aware that there are inherent risks when cleaning blinds. Daily exposure to sunlight and aging can make blinds brittle, and strings/chords may weaken over time, leading to breakage.
- Improperly Hung Items – Pictures, decorations, or mirrors should not fall if securely and properly attached to the wall when dusted or wiped.
- Valuable Items – Artwork, collectibles, or family heirlooms valued over $200 are expensive or irreplaceable. We do not assume the risk of cleaning such items unless the customer informs us about it in comments when booking, email, or written form.
- Woodwork & Furniture – Inform us during booking if your woodwork, wooden furniture, or vintage wooden furniture is not sealed or made of a material other than actual wood. Please discuss any specific care needs or special instructions for your furniture. If you prefer to use your own cleaning products for specific pieces such as furniture, musical instruments, etc., please inform us about it in comments when booking, email, or written form.
7. Condition of Homes: The Company reserves the right to assess the condition of homes before commencing work. Additional fees may apply for exceptionally messy homes.
8. Cancellations and Rescheduling: Customers must provide a minimum notice of 12 hours for cancellations or rescheduling. Failure to do so may result in a fine of $50, unless there is a legitimate reason or the appointment can be replaced.
9. Staff Solicitation: Customers agree not to solicit for hire any personnel introduced to them by the Company for home-related services. In the event of a breach, a referral/training fee of $3,000 per hired employee shall apply. As specified in the contract with the employee.
10. Indemnification: You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Cleaning Mate and its subsidiaries, agents, licensors, managers, and other affiliated companies, and their employees, owners, contractors, agents, officers, and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees) arising from: (i) your use of any cleaning services provided by Cleaning Mate’s representatives; (ii) any alleged or actual loss or damage to property (including your residence), resulting from the performance of Cleaning Mate’s cleaning services. (iii) We may use the photos of our work on our social media/website/Google Maps, etc. – without any of your identifiable information in the photo, e.g. a sink, an oven, a vacant space, etc.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cleaning Mate does not warrant, endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for the cleaning services, including those performed by Cleaning Mate’s representatives, or any losses or damages resulting therefrom. The service, including our cleanings, is provided to you on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Your use of the service is at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, workmanlike quality, or non-infringement. Without limiting the foregoing, Cleaning Mate, its subsidiaries, and its licensors do not warrant that the service is accurate, reliable, or correct; that the service will meet your requirements; or that the service will be available at any particular time or location, uninterrupted, or secure.
By engaging our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms of Service.
